Almaz and Ceci were raised by their grandmothers, Almaz in Ethiopia and Ceci in Cameroon respectively. They learned to cook the traditional way, by observing and helping their grandmothers in the kitchen. They grew up forming a special bond with their grandmothers and cultivating a passion for their traditional dishes.
They both live in Santa Fe and have continued the traditions that were handed down to them, including other cooking techniques they they’ve picked up along life’s journey. Almaz and Ceci both vended food at the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market for several years, and they continue to do private catering and cooking workshops around Santa Fe.
